Principles of Privacy of Customers' Personal Data

Seastar Shipping sm p.c., is committed to protect the Personal Data that are disclosed to it, from any source that they come from (e.g. via mail, fax, corporate cards, tax forms, the company's website as well as other websites, databases, etc.), in accordance with Law 2472/1997 for the Protection of Personal Data, as it has be modified and applied, as well as in accordance with European Regulation 2016/679 for Data Protection.

Personal data normally being received by the company are:

DATA OBJECTIVE PURPOSE

Identity-communication data, such as:

A1) Passenger lists (surname and name, nationality, gender, date of birth, passport number, cruise start and end date).

A2) Crew lists (surname and name, rank, nationality, date and place of birth and passport number).

B) Health data, health status

  • Issuing of ferry tickets,
  • Partnerships in cruise arrangements by partner agencies,
  • Conclusion of contracts
  • Ships’ agency
  • Transfer of passengers, crew
  • Visa issue
  • Transfer of passengers / crew for medical reasons
  • Security of our company
  • Internal use by our Company.

The company ensures the legal and appropriate compliance of procedures that are related with the privacy and confidentiality of the Personal Data that it receives, as well as, to prevent any unauthorized access to such data, as well as the equipment used for the processing or archiving of it.

For the purpose of this policy, the term "data subjects" includes all natural persons as well as all unilateral legal forms of companies whose personal data we hold (the data subject is the person associated with the term "Personal Data ").

Our Company guarantees that your Personal Data will not be used for purposes other than those mentioned in this policy without prior notice and, where appropriate, your approval. We do not share personal data with third parties that are not affiliated with us unless this is required for our legitimate business purposes and our business needs in order to meet your requests and / or as required by law.

TIME SPACE FOR CONSERVATION AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA

We are committed to keeping your personal information in a secured area with controlled access for as long as is necessary. You may request a deletion of your personal information in a shorter amount of time, which we will satisfy after checking our legal base and our obligations to the Law and / or the contract between us.

NOTIFICATION OF PERSONAL DATA

We may disclose your personal information to third parties, processing on behalf of our Company, in particular but not limited to data processing support providers.

Transmission to third parties, processing, will take place only subject to the legal conditions laid down in Articles 24 and 28 of the Rules of Procedure.

In the event of data being transferred to countries outside the European Union, the Company shall inform for the data subject in advance and ensures that the appropriate guaranties are provided in place to protect personal data and that being applied in terms of expertise, reliability and resources, the appropriate technical and organizational measures in such a way that the processing is lawful and the rights of the data subjects and the appropriate level of security s risks.

The company applies appropriate policies, technical procedures and organizational security to protect personal data from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction or unauthorized access.

Our Company executives who have access to the data are required to observe the confidentiality of this data.

Please be aware that during the term of our collaboration, personal data required by law or by the contract are legally complied with and can not be objected to. Consequently, the rights of objection, limitation and deletion should concern data processing other than legal or contractual purposes. Furthermore, in specific cases (due to, for example, legal obligations), we may not be able to make your request immediately. However, in any case, you will receive a response to your request at the latest within one month of submission.

WITHDRAWAL OF PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

You may, at any time, revoke the consent you have given to our company for the processing and disclosure of your Personal Data.

Withdrawal of consent will not affect the legitimacy of the processing that was based on it for the period before it is withdrawn. Further, and for the right to withdraw your consent, the above mentioned, applicable to the law or the contract apply.
